STEAM-Mechanics of Movement
May 26, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm CDT
An event every day that begins at 9:00 am, repeating until May 28, 2020
One event on May 29, 2020 at 9:00 am
Our STEAM program focuses on providing an integrated experience that uses all five threads of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math). Our participants learn, create and explore in an environment that mimics work and life!
This session participants will learn about the physics of work and movement by engineering mousetrap cars. They will then experiment with programming as they program motors to drive their vehicles, all while using art to track their progress in a beautiful and engaging way.
Our instructors are experts in their respective fields. Staff this session includes Charles Koenig of the STEM Alliance, Jeanne Tassi, art teacher at Columbia Independent School, and Linda Schust, Ph.D. scientist and former CPS teacher.
