Odissi is a dance form from the state of Odisha in eastern India. It is recognized as one of the eight classical dance forms of India.  The traditional Odissi repertoire, like all classical Indian dances, includes Nritta (pure dance, solo), Nritya (dance with emotions, solo) and Natya (dramatic dance, group). The basic units of Odissi are called bhangas. These are made up of eight belis, or body positions and movements, combined in many variations. Odissi dance is accompanied by the traditional classical music of the state of Odisha, Odissi music.

Odissi can composed your mind while building fitness and strength in your body. Depending upon the reception that this workshop receives, Jabberwocky is considering offering Odissi as a regular dance class.
